Lagos, Nov. 9, 2022 (NAN) The Head Coach of Rivers Hoopers, Ogor Odaudu, on Wednesday in Lagos said his team were in the Nigeria Basketball Final Eight to win the championship crown.

Odaudu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they were ready to smash all opposition to achieve their aim.

NAN reports that the Hoopers had on Tuesday dismissed Gombe Bulls 67-60 to record their second victory in the competition

“We played very well but allowed them (Gombe Bulls) to get back into the game after we were ahead with about 25 points.

“This was almost costly for us. But we had to rally back and prove our quality over Gombe Bulls who happen to be a very tough team to beat.

“But like I said after our first win, we will take each game at a time and will not rush, because we have at the back of our minds the ultimate target which is the championship crown,” Odaudu said

Rivers Hoopers will have Kwara Falcons to contend with in their quest, as the Ilorin-based side have also recorded two straight wins so far in the competition.

They beating Kano Pillars 65-54 to record their second win.

Other results on day two clash of the competition had Nigeria Customs beating Lagos Islanders 70-51.

The Final Eight Competition is holding at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos.
