Star Plus FC Reaches Enugu State League Quarterfinals

Star Plus FC of Ngwo, yesterday qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Enugu State Football League.
The team trounced De-Lawmaco of Independence Layout 4-0 at the Rangers International FC training pitch, Liberty Estate, Enugu.
The Star Plus, an Ngwo-based clubside, are the defending 2021 league Champions.
They defeated Chuson FC of Emene 2-1 at the 2021 final to emerge champions.
The club garnered six points after winning two matches in group D, which had four teams.
Chidera Pius opened scoring at the 35th minute before Chukwujekwu Okpali made it 2-0 at the 38th minute.
Okpali hit a brace at the 43rd minute to raise the scores to 3-0.
Pius also pulled a brace and his third goal of the league at the 79th minute to bring the scores to 40 In another encounter, Flying Angels played out 1-1 with Strikers FC of Abakpa.
Both sides scored their goals after the interval.
Uzochukwu Ogbabido scored for Flying Angels and Moses Ugwuokwor levelled scores at the 90th minute of play.
Meanwhile, Giant Brillars FC of New Layout defeated Great Achievers FC of Emene 1-0 at the final match of the day.
The team defended the lone goal, which was scored by Chimezie Uba at the 10th minute, by frustrating all the efforts of the hard fighting Great Achievers.
The league, which kicked off on June 26, is scheduled to end on July 26.
