The Federal Government has given awards to 40 distinguished staff of the Ministry of Power for their outstanding performance, as part of activities to mark the 2022 Civil Service Week.
The awardees were 10 Senior Level Officers, 19 Middle Level Officers And 11 lower cadre officers.
Speaking at the ceremony, yesterday in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Mr Nebolisa Anako said that those who got the awards had performed excellently in their various assignments.
Anako said that the recipients were selected on merit and encouraged them to do more.
Speaking on the criteria for the selection of the awardees, he said they were assessed on unusual patriotic commitment to the civil service; length of service; productivity and integrity in service delivery.
He listed other criteria used to assess them to include efficiency in service delivery, commitment and dedication to scheduled duty and responsibility; personal impact; adherence to core values as well as creativity and innovation.
On his part, Mr Bala Mohammed, Director, General Services, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation advised the recipients to keep up the good work.
Mohammed urged the awardees not to relent in their effort to move the civil service to greater heights.
Mr Daniel Ineididie, Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Service said the award would motivate the workers to work harder.
Among the awardees was the Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Power, Mr Odutayo Oluseyi.
