FCT FA Cup : City FC Whip Sancio FA 4-0

Nigeria National League (NNL) side City FC of Abuja  on Sunday in their opening  Day Four  match, whipped Sancio Football Academy ( FA ) of Abuja 4-0 at the round one phase of the ongoing 2022 FCT FA Cup Competition.
During the match at the Area 3 football pitch in Abuja, NNL campaigners,  City FC showed class as they thrashed  Sancio FA.
An early goal came from City FC by Peter Bala  who nodded the ball in the 14th minute, to herald a goal galore for the team.
Chima Deruo also headed home the second goal to double the lead in the 17th minute, bringing the game at 2-0 at the interval.
On resumption, the City boys mounted pressure  and this earned them two  more goals through Mujeeb Odufeso  in the 68th minute and  Oscar Ezejiofor’s penalty kick that sealed their victory in the 79th minute.
Sunday Okoh, Head Coach  of City  FC  told NAN after the match that they were aiming higher in the campaign for the 2022 Cup.
“it was a tough game between  City FC and  Sancio FA as both sides set out defensively, but City FC took control of the game.
“There are no teams to underrate in the competition.That is why I’m facing all teams that come  bumper to bumper.
“I’m not under any threat that we are going to meet  another NNL side, either Nigeria Air Force Football Club  or The EFCC FC in the future.
 “I have no problem meeting them but I’m not underrating any team.
“We displayed a wonderful game against our opponents but we were able to have four goals. That alone is an honour to my team. We really performed well,” he said.
 He added that playing was an honor and  “we will come out just the way we play our NNL league and make sure that we get to the top”.
“I will still work harder on the team in our next match of round of 16.The players I have here today, I’m alright with them and I wish them more luck in the remaining matches.
 “We will go back and correct our mistakes and we are coming out with another tactics entirely,” he said.
In another match played, Aruwa Academy  were unlucky as they got bundled out of the competition after a  2-2 draw in regular time and 3-5 loss in penalty shootout against Varmed FC.
 The competition which started on May 18, is expected to end on Wednesday at the Area 3 football ground in Abuja.
