Buhari’s Silence In The Inauguration Is Costly – PDP

The Failure of the President, Muhammadu Buhari to address the Nation, at the just
concluded Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, held on Wednesday, 29th May 2019,
has raised thick dust in the political atmosphere.

The PDP has accused the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress
(APC) of this costly silence, saying that the result of the rigged Presidential election was
hunting their conscience.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) insisted that this development has proven to the
world the Presidential election was rigged and the aftermath of the result is regrettable
to them, the APC.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in his statement, said that
the failure of the President and the APC to assure the people of the true dividend of
democracy following the events experienced in the electoral process was not expressed
in the inauguration ceremony.

Marred by poor attendance and audience apathy, the presidential inauguration
ceremony expressed a show of shame in the time our democracy has gone from bad to
worse, he said.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary decried the spate of killings and lawlessness in
various parts of the country. These he said that the President has refused to provide a
solution and that tells more of the kind of ruler he is.

With the recent case of suicide and endless desire of most Nigerians to travel abroad
for greener pastures, the solution to the nation’s problem is not fast approaching.

Failure of the President to address the nation has made most nations of the world to
mock our growing democracy. He further urged Nigerians to be hopeful that the stolen
mandate by the present administration is short-lived and will be reclaimed at the
tribunal. This will usher in a new political dispensation that breeds true leadership, and
thus, move the nation out of its poverty state, he reads.

The Nation has long suffered in the hands of the present administration, but the PDP
failure to claim victory at the just concluded Presidential polls has made them a
nightmare for the President and the All Progressive Congress.

The African Action Congress (AAC) was among the few parties who were shocked
about the President’s Silence at the Inauguration ceremony. They said that the
president is not showing any concern to the plight of Nigerians. This statement was
made by Rachel Onamusi-Kpiasi, the Director of Media and Communication for AAC.

However, Nigerians are hopeful that President acts in accordance with the law and
implement programs that will improve the economy in the course of his second tenure,
so as to make the country livable, thereby attracting foreign investors.
