Allegri Departs

The Italian Seria A giant, Juventus, has failed to win the 2018 – 2019 UEFA Champions
League and this have led to the sack of the current coach by the club management –
despite the huge signing of the superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus had recently released a press statement on that with immediate effect stating
that the head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, will be leaving the club at the end of the 2018
– 2019 seasons.

The elimination of the Seria A giant from the Champions League, after Ajax did huge
damage to their Cup glory, calls for questioning despite being tagged the favorite to lift
the crown.

With the failure to lift the cup, the 51-year-old club manager is set to depart the club this
summer. A recent statement posted on the club’s website reads as quoted:

“Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the Juventus bench in the 2019-2020 seasons.

“The coach and the president, Andrea Agnelli, will meet the media together at a press
conference, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday 18 May, at 2 pm (CET) in the
conference hall of the Allianz Stadium.”

So far, either party has not released any statement on where Allegri – five times Scudetti
champion, four times Coppa Italia trophies and two times Supercoppa Italiana
champion, during his tenure in Turin – will end up for the next league season.

More so, rumors had it that Chelsea could be an option for the Italian, with Maurizio
Sarri’s uncertain future following an unpredictable season. Yet, Bayern Munich could be

interested in the race as they look to bid a final farewell to their current coach Niko
Kovac in the summer.

The big question: Who will take over from Allegri? As Antonio Conte’s recently admitted
that there is a 60 percent probability that he would return to coaching in the Italian top
flight next season. This will likely put him in the position, even though the former Italy
manager was recently linked with Inter Milan and Roman.

Former Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has been without a coaching job since
being released by the club last year and the Portuguese skipper made a recent
statement that he will return to coaching if only the right club with the right aspiration is
available for him.

Following a recent interview with L’Equipe, the former Manchester United boss
Mourinho was questioned about his possibility of taking over at Paris Saint-Germain
after making statements that he knew why PSG was eliminated in the Champions
League Cup at the hands of Manchester United, but wouldn’t make any comment due to
Thomas Tuchel already being the current club manager.\

With an excellent track record in the Champions League and a close relationship with
the sports director – Antero Henrique, rumor now has it that Mourinho could move to the
Parc des Princes any time soon.
