VTV-IMO PALM: Youth Council Empowers Less Privileged Students

Just two days after a successful congress of a youth body under the aegis of
Ohaji/Egbema Agwa Youth Council, Christ Saints Gospel Church, Agwa parish, has
honoured, Comr. Bosco Kingsley Nwadiogor, the council president.

Addressing members and guests at the church auditorium during the celebration of its
2019 Mothering Sunday, the resident pastor, Mr. Peter Oluwuihe said that it was the
decision of Church mothers to honour Comr. Kingsley B. Nwadiogor and other deserving
recipients as “Ezi Nwa”of the Church.

He noted further that Comr. Nwadiogor among other awardees were chosen by mothers of
the Church because of their various contributions to the work of God and society at
large, while urging them not to relent in their selfless services to God and
humanity.

Responding, Comrade Nwadiogor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God, the women and
the entire congregation of Christ Saints Gospel Church, Agwa for such a surprising
honour to him.

The Egbema born youth president in the meantime, prayed God to reward the women and
the Church for celebrating the year’s Mothering Sunday in grand style.

Similarly, youths in the 3 catchment areas (host communities) of VTV-Imo Palm
Limited, which comprised Ohaji, Egbema in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, and Agwa in Oguta LGA,
have been advised to shun violence and respect constituted authorities

These were the views of Hon. Vitalis Jiakponna,BOT chairman of the Youth Council who
doubled as the chairman of the just concluded council Congress held at Oforola Town
Hall, Egbema on the 10th of May, 2019.

Presenting his address, the President of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council, Comr. Bosco
Kingsley Nwadiogor lauded VTV-ImoPalm Ltd., the BOT, Exco, Parent Landlord and the
entire delegates of the council for the achievements so for recorded by the council
in less than oneyear, particularly in the payment of WASCE/NECO fee for the
less-privileged students in the 3 catchment areas of VTV-Imo Palm.

Comr. Nwadiogor however, hinged some of the challenges of the Youth Council on
pilfering, lack of secretariat for the youth body, sustenance of the scholarship
programme/vocational training of youths and review of the council constitution, which
has been in existence since year 2000.

The youth president, who commended Hon. Kingsley Chima Uju, Federal House of
Representatives member elect for his effort in the reopening of VTV- Imo Palm, used
the medium to seek the support of VTV- Imo Palm and other relevant agencies to tackle
the challenges facing the council.

Speaking, High Chief Kyrian Ojiaku, Chairman,VTV-Imo Palm Landlord Association,
thanked the forefathers from the 3 catchment zones for ensuring through the MOU that
the landlords were carried along in whatever privatization process that takes place
in Adaplam/VTV-Imo Palm and urged the youths to ensure that they support the growth
and profitability ofVTV-Imo Palm.

Some of the respondents at the event which include: Hon. Cashenry Ogbuga, Secretary
to the BOT, Mr Udensi Alamezie, BOTmember, Chinoso Ukor, Hon. Adonis Nick, former
leader, Ohaji/Egbema LGA Legislative Assembly and Mr. Mario Martin Power, among
others commended the Youth Council for her efforts, and stressed on the need for the
management of VTV-Imo Palm and the oil companies operating in the area to do the
needful forthe people.

High points of the event were the presentation of the 4 WAEC/NECO fee beneficiaries
and the chairman of Education Committee,Comr. Dan Akarulam to the congress and the
adoption of constitution review which was moved by Mr. Jonathan Nwokocha and
supported by Comr. Dan Akarulam.
